“Life is short. We do not have much time to gladden the hearts of those who walk this way with us. So, be swift to love and make haste to be kind.” Henri-Frederic Amiel

ART THERAPY
ALTHOUGH IT LOOKS AND FEELS LIKE EXERCISE IT IS FAR MORE. YOGA IS A MOVING MEDITATION THAT ALLOWS US TO USE THE WISDOM OF OUR MINDS AND BODIES TO TEACH US EQUANIMITY.
Katie began practicing yoga in 1989 when she stumbled into a class and found that afterwards she felt stronger, more flexible, and calmer. She has developed her own practice and draws her experience from Ashtanga, Anusara, Iyengar, Hatha, and heated power yoga.
Katie has a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from George Washington University and started working in psychiatric settlings in 1985. She is skilled in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and has a daily meditation practice. Her classes incorporate the spirit of self-acceptance in the moment. She encourages dwelling within each posture to nourish the body as well as the mind.
